Last weekend, 22nd and 23rd of November, I sold my books at my very first Pop Expo, for those of you who have never heard of it, it's kind of a smaller version of a Comiccon and more focused on popular culture than comics. I decided to try selling my books at this event in preparation for an actual Comiccon and to scope out the event to see if it was something I could do in the future. Well, I had a wonderful time meeting many of my readers, old and new, and getting to spend time with other vendors and even some celebrities.
My friend, and awesome entrepreneur, the Geeky Godmother was my assistant on the Saturday and my dear friend, Heidi, helped on the Sunday, which meant I got to spend two whole days with my close friends and we had such fun. Huge thanks goes out to my two lovely helpers and also to those of you who managed to get to Pop Expo and came over for a chat.
My books were very well received, especially the new one, Witch Bottle, which only came out on the 1st November. I was able to sell an incredible amount of sixty (60) books over the two days, which is the most I've sold at a single event. And, yes, I admit it, I met John Barrowman (Arrow, Torchwood & Dr Who) and he now has a copy of my book, Witch Bottle, in his hands. (Squee!)
Although, the weekend left me rather tired and achy, it was a wonderful experience and one I'll be doing again in the future.
