Every year, I go away for ten days of off-grid camping and I get to spend some time with dear friends, I'm really looking forward to leaving on Saturday 23rd July. The first few days are for R&R and then the large festival called the Kaleidoscope Gathering begins and I sell my books, alongside many other vendors, to the hundreds of people who attend the event in Eganville, Ontario.
The campsite, Raven's Knoll, is beautiful and is located on the Bonnechere River, it is mostly wooded and is a delightfully peaceful place until night time when hearing the drums from around the main firepit can easily lull you into a contented sleep.
I look forward to this time both for me personally and for meeting my readers, and I find it a much-needed break from life as a writer, which mostly consists of being sat at my desk working on the computer every day.
If you are in the area, why not drop by and say hello? The festival sells day tickets as well as weekend or full festival passes.
Anyway, whatever you find yourself doing over the next couple of weeks, take care of yourself and I'll post again when I return.
